Normally the cabin is reached by ascending Egginerjoch from the Felskinn cableway. The route is easy and short. When the hut is guarded, a winter hiking trail is also prepared on this route (in case of good conditions). The cabin is the starting point for a multitude of prestigious glacier tours. The view from the cabin to Strahlhorn, Rimpfischhorn and Allalinhorn is magnificent.

Route description

Felskinn cableway – cabin

From the summit station of the Felskinn cableway (2988 m) traverse the ski runs eastward to reach the buildings (3021 m) above Egginerjoch (2988 m). From the col ski down about 100 metres into a depression and towards the glacier lakes of Chessjengletscher. Turn S to reach the cabin.
