Beautiful popular ski tour in the impressive setting of the Val d'Entremont. Great views of the Mont-Blanc massif. The route starts in Bourg-Saint-Pierre, then climbs NE up into the wide Challand valley. It then follows the valley some way, before steering north and gaining the gentle S ridge leading o the summit.
Route description
Bourg-St.-Pierre – Summit
From Bourg-Saint-Pierre (1632 m), head E and cross the main road. Turn right (S) to begin with, along the summer path, then N to P. 1837 (Le Plan du Pey ) and join the mountain track leading to Azerin. Climb the slopes of Azerin (2046 m) to reach Challand d´en Haut (2221 m). Continue SE along the valley beyond. At roughly 2400 m, leave the main valley and veer left, past P. 2444, before climbing more steeply NE to reach the flat valley beneath and to the N of P. 2665. Cross the valley to P. 2735 and the ideal line up the broad S rib leading to the summit of Bonhomme du Tsapi.
