Basòdino 3272 m Ski tour
The majestic Basòdino summit and its large white glacier, visible from afar, exert a magical pull on ski tourists. Offering long descents, it is a first-class skiing mountain. Ghiacciaio del Basòdino presents only a few crevasses along the itinerary, but if you want to climb the mountain, full alpine gear is necessary nevertheless. One of the highest peaks of Ticino, it is located at the head of Vallemaggia, close to Lago Maggiore. The lake's altitude is 196 m, which is the lowest point of Switzerland. From the shores of the lake to the summit are more than 3000 metres of vertical height. It is a journey from the tropical climate on Isole di Brissago to the the glacier on Basòdino.
