With or without using the ski lifts
From the top of the ski lifts of Bürchen the route follows a wide valley to reach a col in the main ridge. Continuning on this ridge brings you to the summit. A very popular ski tour. Even if the cable cars and ski-lifts are closed for the season, the ski tour can be made; the starting point then is the village of Bürchen. Often there is still enough snow.
Route description
Summit station of the ski lift – Augstbordhorn
From the summit station of the Törbeltälli ski lift (ca. 2530 m) ascend a few hundred metres in the large valley. Turn left to ascend the least steep N slopes to the west of Schwarzhorn (2776 m; caution: risk of avalanche). Continue through a depression to P. 2877 on the SE ridge of Augstbordhorn. Follow the ridge to the summit.
Descent
Descent on the ascent and then down to Bürchen (1505 m)
