Route description
Variant with public transport: Sahli - Waldi, Gross Gade
From the bus stop "Sahli Seilbahnstation" follow the main path (or the unmarked track up through Ruosalper Wald) to the parking at Gross Gade and the Ruosalper Bach (stream), ca. 45 mins.
Gross Gade - Ruosalper Bach - base of Alpler Stock and Alpler Flue
From the northern end of the car park at the Ruosalper stream, cross the bridge, walk a few meters upstream then bear rightwards (East) and climb trackless terrain up to the grassy terrace of Ober Seeli. By the obvious cairn at the northwestern edge of the small terrace a good mountain path begins, which leads up through a steep couloir to Alp Vorläubli. Pass the alpine hut and come onto to the south side of the Alpler Stock. For the various routes spread along the Alpler Flue, follow the path which runs more or less directly along the cliff base to your desired climb.
Variant: Approach from Lang Boden via Lochplanggen (June to start of October. )
The most convenient access to the sectors A-E on the Alpler Flue is possible only between June and mid October, when the access road to the Alp Ober Stafel is open. From the car park at the Ruosalper Bach continue on to Alp Unter Stafel. From here you need to have a day permit (Fr. 10.-). Follow the scenic road along to Lang Boden and up to P. 1785 at the very back in the valley, where the road turns north (parking for 1-2 vehicles, more ca. 150 m before). From point 1785 do not follow the broad path south of the creek, but the cairned path north of the creek. This leads first 20 m downhill, before traversing along the Lochplanggen to the lowest point of Alpler Flue. Climb back uphill along the cliff base to reach the various secotrs (about 20-30 min).
